DESIGNER/ARTISAN

Mary Wonser is a handweaver living in Bend, Oregon, and has been weaving for more than twenty years. She enjoys all types of weaving and has her four floor looms going all the time. She weaves Southwest style rugs, wall hangings, scarves, shawls and throws....often incorporating feathers, beads, ribbons and metallic fibers. She loves the interplay of different fibers with each other while still incorporating good simple design. "I want my pieces to stir ones emotions and senses."

Even though Mary is known for her weaving, she is also accomplished in other aspects of fiber art including dyeing, and knits beautifully. She and her husband Michael are both accomplished artists who have shown their work in galleries for years.
